TOILET KAMAR ATAS (upstairs toilet)

1. Granite adalah jenis batu alam yang paling kuat, tahan udara panas atau dingin, sulit berubah bentuk dan warna. Karena itu Granit adalah pilihan favorit untuk kebutuhan outdoor. Kekurangnya, pilihan motifnya terbatas - kalau bukan bintik-bintik atau abstrak seperti kepingan mutiara atau shell.

Dipilih kombinasi granite bintik-bintik merah-itam dan bintik putih hitam untuk seluruh bidang dinding toilet atas. Saya tidak yakin apa nama bintik merah. Mungkin Giallon Veneziano, Red Balmoral, Rosa Beta atau Rosa Porrino. Untuk yang bintik putih, agak lebih yakin dengan jenis Starwhite.

Kenapa begitu? Ya, saya belinya dipinggir jalan. Saat itu saya pas mencari alternatif dari jalan reguler saya tol salkot karena dapat info macet dari twit. Keluar dari Simatupang, malah ketemu penjual Granit yang punya barang bagus, tapi tidak tahu apa-apa soal barang dagangannya.
Kelihatannya sisa bangunan besar dan penjualnya tidak tahu menahu soal jenis Granit ini. Kali ini saya mau menyebut angka, harganya Rp 1.750.000 untuk kebutuhan dinding kamar mandi yang kira-kira 30 meter per segi. Walaaaah, padahal setelah check ke toko harganya hampir Rp 2 juta per meter2. Lucky bas**rd.

Bintik merah sangat memuaskan, namun sedikit kecewat untuk starwhite. Terlihat ada sedikit bercak. Tapi mempertimbangkan harga yang lebih murah 1/30 dari harga normal, ya sudahlah. No problem.

3. Lantai. Menggunakan marmer Verde Patricia berwarna hijau tua. Konon dari Pakistan, beratnya minta ampun. Saya melarang keras ada pemotongan slab. Di bagian kering adalah Verde Patricia yang licin, sementara yang basah Verde yang sudah kena acid alias proses pengasaran. Si penjual melakukan eksperimen dengan menyiram acid di Verde. Karena tidak puas, proses acid tidak dilanjutkan ke slab Verde lainnya. Sehingga boleh jadi, ini adalah satu-satunya Verde dengan permukaan kasar. Kami memang butuh marmer permukaan kasar, sehingga tidak licin saat mandi.
Namun ukuran slab 1,5 x 3 meter terlalu besar untuk bidang 1,5 x 0,8 meter. Ah, tidak ambil pusing. Sisanya dijatahkan untuk lantai ruang cuci dan kamar mandi belakang. Terlalu mewah untuk toilet pembantu? Ga masalah, toh rumah gue juga. Apalagi arga perolehannya, setara harga keramik. Hehehe....


4. Untuk pintu dan jendela, dari bahan jati. Semua materialnya sama dan sebangun dengan yang digunakan di ruangan lainnya.
